Life is like a race, and in that race there are hurdles. The hurdles represent the things that come into our life to mature us, whether bad or good. The runner can not just bypass these hurdles, for his time will mean nothing. He must overcome them, for he is not judged simply on the finish line but on how graciously he scales the obstacles in his way. Some of us, admittedly, have more hurdles than others but that is the great picture of it all. That progress is not measured by looking to the left or right, but by accomplishing what is in front.
