Emptiness

Do not shy away from brokenness, dear child. For in the ashes of our emptiness arises the triumph of wholeness. The reason we so often feel deficient is because we are unwilling to endure the painful purging that precedes God’s filling. We cry out “God fill us” in full knowing that we have not made our cup ready for its blessing. We must first come to know our spiritual poverty before we can truly understand our rich inheritance. It is no coincidence that the richest man to ever walk the earth was known as the servant of all.
