A Good Shepherd

A good shepherd doesn’t flaunt his individualism. He doesn’t take pride in the things he can indulge in. No, a good shepherd thinks of his sheep. He becomes weakness because of the weakness in them. He trims himself because they need trimming. He prays more because they lack a prayer life. He serves more because they need to be servants. Where his heart is troubled by his flock he becomes an example to prod and encourage them in obedience to God. A good shepherd imitates Christ who said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11
