Devotion

I’ve found that true devotion is when I allow Him to draw something out of me instead of trying to squeeze something out of Him. Oh how we try so feverishly to make a checklist of our devotions for simplicity and supposed effectiveness. Why not let His Spirit fan the flame of desire for what’s on His heart? We don’t approach our human relationships with such robotic dogma, do we? The key is to come to Him for who He is not for what He is. Herein, we find our fervor and our Friend.
