Exhortation

If only we could trade our Bible degrees for humility and our big buildings for big hearts. For we don’t need better verbal exhortation of the Word but a living exhortation of the Word. Then, perhaps, we’d have revival in our midst. But the forever longing of a sleeping church is “please don’t wake me up!”. The harsh reality is that we have grown cold and don’t desire Him anymore. As it is written,

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22

Wake us up, Lord. Call your people back to the wilderness and burn in us once again. Father of glory, may we crown you with the circumcision of our lives; offering a pious and simple heart to You for Your use. Let us rediscover Your love and embark on a radical—hell shaking adventure for Christ.
