Legalism

Legalism keeps the letter of the law without the spirit of the law. It has Christ in doctrine but not in Person. Love in principal but not in deed. It can spot an exegetical error from a mile away but fails to see the heresy of it’s own heart. It will break the first commandment in an effort to keep the 10th. It will complain all day about the way things are and then turn around and stone the man wanting to change it.
